Personally Opposed, But

I find few things more disgusting than the “Personally Opposed . . . ” argument. Interestingly enough, I found out that it was Cardinal Cushing of Boston who once used that argument. Perhaps he was working under the assumption that not all sins should be made crimes. Whatever his motivation, in hindsight it is an obvious mistake.
